Ustad Hyder Khan was younger brother of Ustad Alladiya Khan of Jaipur - Atrauli Gharana. He was trained under his uncle Ustad Jahangir Khan and brother Ustad Alladiya Khan. He was a vocalist with a sweet voice and was specialized in Dhrupad, Dhamar and Khayal. He was known for beautiful rendition of ‘Bol-Alap’ and ‘Bol-Taan’. He always accompanied his brother Ustad Alladiya Khan and got settled in Kolhapur along with him. He trained many vocalists such as son Nathhan Khan, Laxmibai Jadhav, Mogubai Kurdikar, etc. He was a good composer. ‘Khelan Aye Radha Madho’ in Raga Lalita Gauri is famous Bandish composed by him. |
