Biography
Sawani Shende Sathaye (born 1979) is an Hindustani classical vocalist. Sawani is grand daughter of Kusum Shende (disciple of Saraswati Rane of Kirana Gharana, also a singer actress) and daughter of Sanjiv Shende, a disciple of Shobha Gurtu. Sawani was initially trained in her own family. She got extensive training under Dr. Veena Sahasrabuddhe. Her singing has a great influence of Dr. Prabha Atre too. She has composed several Bandishes which are published in a book 'Hriday Swar'.
