Balasaheb Poochwale

<p><strong>Balasaheb Poochwale</strong> (1918–2005) is an Hindustani classical vocalist. Balasaheb Poochhwale was son and disciple of Pt. Rajabhaiya Poochhawale of Gwalior Gharana. He also studied under Pt. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande and Pt. Shrikrishna N. Ratanjankar.</p><p>He was a wellversed singer of Gwalior Gharana, having a great repertoire of traditional Ragas and Bandishes. He has equal command on Khayal, Tappa, Tarana, Trivat, Chaturang, Ashtapadi, Thumari, etc.</p><p>He composed many beautifull Bandishes, which were published in his autobiography &quot;Main Jaisa Bhi Hun&quot; (2003).</p><p>He was awarded with many prestigious honors such as Tansen Award, Sangeet Natak Akademy award, ITC SRA award, etc.</p>
