Bade Ramdas Mishra

Pandit Bade Ramdas Ji Mishra was known as 'Gayanacharya of Banaras'. He was one of the mentors of Banaras Gharana in vocal music. His nephews and disciples, Hanuman Prasad Mishra, Gopal Mishra and grandsons Rajan & Sajan Mishra are famous musicians. Bade Ramdas Ji also trained many musicians such as Sidhheshwari Devi, Mahadev Prasad Mishra, Umadatta Sharma (father of Shivkumar Sharma) and many more. He was an excellent composer and created many Bandishes with beautiful lyrics and rich Raga-Tala content. Many of his Bandishes are in regular rendition of many musicians.
