Biography
Sushila Pohankar came from a Music loving family and herself learnt music from many maestros. She was well versed in Khayal as well as Thumari. A knowledgeable Guru with deep insights into Performing Music, Sushila Ji alias Taiji takes personal care in the progress of all her students.
Taiji was known for her numerous compositions [ranging about hundred] in bandish style as well as thumris, dadras. She composed her music under the pen name Surmohi. Her prominent disciples are Ajay Phankar (her son) and Kalpana Zokarkar.
