Biography

Harjinder Pal Singh is a Namdhari Sikh who was born in Jabalpur, India in 1953. He is the Senior Disciple of the Santoor Maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma. His interest in music since his childhood iniciated is father to send him to learn tabla from Bhai Labh Singh of the Punjab Gharana. While learning tabla he continued with his studies and recieved his Bachelors degree in Science. Later on he became the desciple of Ustad Nihal Singh to learn the Pakawaj style of tabla. Seeing his talent, Satguru Jagjit Singh, the spiritual head of then Namdhari Sikhs, took Harjinder Pal to Bombay to learn Santoor From Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma. He gave his first performance in New Delhi in 1986. Ustad Harjinder Pal is currently in the UK.
