Kushal Das

Kushal Das, a Sitarist, hails from a family of musicians - his grandfather Late BimalChandra Das was a famous Esraj player while his father Shri Shailen Das and uncle Shri Shantanu Das are Sitarists of great recognition. Kushal received rigorous training in advanced Sitar styles and the art of music under the tutelage of Prof. Sanjoy Bandopadhyay, the celebrated Sitar maestro and academician. He also had the honour of having studied under renowned musicians such as Pandit Manas Chakraborty, Pandit Ramkrishna Basu and Late Pandit Ajoy Sinha Roy. Kushal has played in a majority of the famous music festivals in India, such as Tansen Music Conference, Dover Lane Music Conference, ITC Sangeet Sammelan & Mini Sangeet Sammelans, State Music Academy Annual Conference, Saltlake Music Conference, All India Radio concerts. His tours overseas included Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Bangladesh were received with immense success and plaudits.
