Biography

Kalyani Salunke is a talented classical singer and a versatile playback singer. Her immense love for music motivated her to take systematic training in music since childhood which is inevitable for any person of melody. Kalyani was initiated into music by her father Shri.Purushottam Pande. She was later taught by Late Pt. Vasantrao Kulkarni of Agra Gharana. Kalyani has been fortunate to have been under the tutelage of Late Dr. Ashok Da. Ranade - a senior scholar and musician of Gwalior Gharana for 18 years. She got the offer to render her melodious voice for Marathi films 'Sundar Maza Ghar' music direction of which was by Madhurani Gokhale - Prabhulkar and 'Tamasha' whose songs are composed by seniors like Ashok Patki and music by Kaushal Inamdar. Qualification: Kalyani Salunke has completed her M.A. in music under the guidance of Mrs. Meenakshi Mudbidri and Late Dr. Sarala Bhide at SNDT University, Mumbai. Achievements: Kalyani Salunke has been awarded with prestigious scholarships for 2 years each from Sajan Milap and the scholarship under National Scholarship Scheme for post-graduate studies. Experience: Classical concerts is a regular feature of Kalyani. She has performed at various prestigious occasions and places like Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, Bandra Music Circle, Swar Sadhana Samiti, Girgaon, etc. Kalyani has also performed at Tata’s NCPA programme which was organized under Aegis of Muktangan. This progamme was supported by the Pu. La. Deshpande Foundation A versatile singer that Kalyani is, she has also performed light vocal on various occasions like programmes directed by Dr. Ashok Ranade such as Swar-Chakra,Geetibhan,Baithakichi Lavani, English play Tempt Me Not - NCPA’s Production, etc. Not just stage and television, but Kalyani has also lent her voice to the Marathi film industry. She has sung for the Marathi film Sundar Majha Ghar and Tamasha. Kalyani performs in various live shows like Tu Saptasoor Mazhe of Ashok Patki and Amrutacha Wasa of Kaushal Inamdar.
