Sharad Gokhale

<p><strong>Sharad Gokhale</strong> (1946–2011) is an Hindustani classical vocalist. Sharad Gokhale was a respectable singer &amp; also an actor in Marathi musical stage. As a child, he started learning classical music at 13 from Vinayakrao R Patwardhan. He got training of Khayal in Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar&#x27;s branch of Gwalior Gayaki of under his Guru. Incidentally he had a musical voice very much resembling to that of Pandit Ram Marathe &amp; he also amalgamated the nuances of his style of singing very effectively.</p><p>Later he became associated with Jairam Shiledar’s “Marathi Rangbhoomi” in 1974 and enacted lead roles in Marathi Music plays including Sangeet Sawyamwar, Saubhadra etc.</p><p>Pandit Gokhale was the recipient of several awards, including those conferred by the Pune and Mumbai divisions of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Sangli-based Deval Smarak Samiti&#x27;s “Natyacharya Govind Ballal Deval” award, the Pune Municipal Corporation&#x27;s “Balgandharva” award and Rajya Natya Parishad&#x27;s “Jeevan Gaurav” award.</p>
