N V Diwan

Pt. N. V. Diwan was a Hindustani Vocalist of Gwalior gharana. He learnt from Pt. Keshavbuwa Ingle in the traditional Gurukul style. He remained always low profile and kept away from glamor. He worked extensively to spread the awareness and knowledge about the Hindustani Art music. He ensured that even to the remote villagers, classical music becomes approachable and simple. He followed the path defined by great Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar to create knowledgeable listeners (Kaan-sen), so that classical music is also upheld and appreciated. Diwan Sir helped many artistes and vocalists to establish the music schools, share the rarest compositions and Ragas without expecting anything in return. Always calm and composed, he undoubtedly was the Saint of this era.
