Pandit Gundubuwa was more known as a Guru, rather than a concert performer and some of his best disciples were musicologist G H Ranade, Balwantrao Sahasrabuddhe and Chintaman Yadnyeshwar Joshi. He also trained two of his sons in Gwalior Gharana Gayaki.
