Uttara Chousalkar

Uttara had her initial training from Smt Vimal Katti. Then she was trained under Dr. Smt. Jyotsna Mohile Rao. From 1985, Uttara became a disciple of Dr. Sushilatai Pohankar. For almost two decades, Uttara received the taleem in guru-shishya parampara from Sushilatai. Uttara is keenly following the 'Ameerkhani gayaki' that is the style of khayal singing popularised by Late Ustad Ameer Khansaheb. Uttara presents rare ragas like Ameerkali, Ramkalyan in her concerts. Uttara holds a doctorate degree in music from the SNDT University. Her thesis is titled as "Hindustani Vocal Classical mehfil in the Twentieth Century".
