Vijay Kichlu

Vijay Kichlu is a Hindustani classical singer of the Agra Gharana. He has studied Dhrupad with the Dagar Brothers, and Khayal from Latafat Hussain Khan of the Agra Gharana. From its inception in 1978, he served as the founding director of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata, the premier institution in India for the instruction and research into Indian music. He has received numerous awards, including from the Sangeet Natak Akademi in New Delhi, and is considered an international authority in Indian classical music. He has also produced valuable teaching CDs and DVDs assisted by his disciples.
