Biography

Mohammad Yunus Khan (born 1934) is an Hindustani classical vocalist. Md. Yunus Khan (15 August 1934 – 03 March 2001) was an Indian vocalist and touring artist known for his significant contributions to Hindustani classical music.

Widely regarded as one of the maestros of classical singing in the Indian subcontinent, he was actively involved in the music industry, particularly in the realm of classical music. He toured several countries, including Bangladesh, where he participated in music concerts worldwide.

𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞

Born in Malda, West Bengal, British India, he hailed from a family of musicians and was profoundly influenced by khyal, a Sufi devotional music genre associated with Hindustani classical music. He stood as one of the senior-most disciples of Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, the son of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan of the Kasur Patiyala Gharana.
