Biography

Sandeep Ranade (born 1981) is an Hindustani classical vocalist. Sandeep Ranade "Naadrang" is a Hindustani Classical Vocalist of the Mewati Gharana. His gurus include Padma Vibhushan Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj, Late Dr. Shobha Abhyankar and Mrs. Anjali Joglekar-Ponkshe.

Sandeep is a software engineer and has worked at companies like Google, VMware, Microsoft, etc. He has a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.

He creates rich soundscapes by pairing musical aesthetic with mathematical rigor, tradition with innovation. He frequently incorporates his experiences in life and music and has created over 70 compositions under the nom de plume 'Naadrang'. His creations span various Ragas, subjects, emotional situations and melodic structures like Bandish, Tarana, Chatrang, Trivat, Geet, Raagmala, Abhanga, Bhavgeet and Nirguni Bhajan.

Sandeep won the All India Vedic Heritage Indian Classical Music contest in 2004 in New York, USA, where Padma Vibhushan Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj was one of the judges. Since then he's learnt with and accompanied Panditji in several concerts over the world, including Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Festival.
