Biography
R.M. Karmarkar, popularly known as Sharad Karmarkar is a light and Hindustani classical vocalist of the All India Radio (AIR). He is the disciple of Pandit Trimbakrao D Janorikar, the senior most doyen of the Bhendi Bazaar Gharana. Karmarkar passed the Sangeet Alankar Examination held by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya with a First Rank. He has composed a number of Marathi songs and has also presented a programme entitled "Sharadache Chandane" devoted exclusively to Marathi Ghazals. His expertise in singing Urdu Ghazals has also been appreciated by well known Urdu scholars. His programme on Urdu Ghazals is presented by "Chandni Raat-E-Ghazal".
