Biography
Sahadat Rana Khan is an Hindustani classical vocalist. Sahadat Rana Khan (born 7 January 1966) in Malda, West Bengal, India. He started learning music from his father, Sangeet Acharya Md. Yunus Khan and from his uncle Ustad Abdul Khaleque Khan. After his father's death, he took training from the legendary stalwart, Ustad Rashid Khan, and lately from Agra Gharana's torchbearer Ustad Waseem Ahmed Khan (Guru ITC Sangeet Research Academy).
He has participated in many major concerts. Apart from rendering Khyals in her performances, she has occasionally adopted a contemporary form of Indian pop music. He has performed at all the prestigious venues of India from the age of 20 and continued participating for the next 5 years. In his recitals, represents a mature and rhythmical swing succeeded by unrestrained taans in three-and-a-half octaves.
He is now the director of an Indian Classical Music Institution known as "Sabrang Sangeet Vidyalaya", which was founded by his father Yunus Khan in 1960.
An audio CD with a raga created by Sahadat was released in August 2012. The audio CD comprised of two Raagas and one bhajan and he was accompanied by the legendary Tabla Maestro Pandit Samar Saha.
