Biography
Chandrika Kamath is an Hindustani classical vocalist. Known for contributions to Hindustani classical music, performance, teaching, and repertoire building.
She has also given solo performances in many prestigious concerts like,The Chandigarh Sangeeth Sammelan, Chandigarh- Indian National Theatre, National Music Festival, Dharwad – Dr Mallikarjun Mansur National Memorial Trust (Dec 2011, Centenary Celebration of Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur),Shree Jagadguru Ajath Nagalinga Mahaswami Aaradhana, Navalgund, Karnataka,Shri Kashimath Venkataraman Temple, Hubli, Samskritika Sanje, Hubli-Kannada Samsritik Ilakha. Govt. Of Karnataka, Avani Rasika Ranga, Dharwad, the Music Festival during Navaratri Celebration in Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram Hubli., Iyer Foundation at Matunga , Mumbai, Tansen Festival, Gwalior, Veena Sheshanna Bhavan , Mysore etc. She has also performed in many Baithaks or house concerts in Hubli, Mysore, Udupi, Mumbai. She has been rendering her Seva Before the Samadhi of Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur every year since 2011. Her articles on Music and the Jaipur Atrauli Gayaki have been published by Omenad, Indore. Her rendering of rare ragas, feature on You Tube. In collaboration with her Guru she has translated Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur’s autobiography “Rasa Yatra – My Journey into Music”, from Kannada to English and it has been published by prestigious Roli books, New Delhi.
Dr. Chandrika Kamath has a doctrate in the Post Colonial Studies from the Karnataka University, Dharwad. Her Guru has great faith that she will ably shoulder the responsibility and carry on the legacy of Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur’s Jaipur Atrauli Gharana Gayaki. She walks in the footsteps of her great master with devotion, dedication and Guru Bhakti.
