Biography

Tanupriya Kalita was born in the Bongaigaon district of Assam. A postgraduate in music received much recognition and appreciation in live performances and stage shows from stalwarts of music as well as audiences. Her musical talent was appreciated by legendary music icon Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika during her childhood performances. She had interaction with Assamese singing icons like Khagen Mahanta and Tarali Sharma. The doctoral thesis of Dr. Sobur Abdus under the Department of Political Science, North Bengal University mentioned her singing talent as well as her name can be found as a notable personality in the book "Great Women of Assam and North East India" by Prof. Souvik Chatterjee. She is a verified artist on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music. She is an affiliated singer under Broad Cast Music, Inc. (USA) vide BMI account number 550895840. In the year she released two hit Assamese melody songs named "Uri Jaboloi Mon Jai" and "Jonmodin". Both the songs were widely distributed on all major digital platforms and broadcasted by various radio stations like Jango Radio, Amazing Radio, and Sound Street Radio. Famous British musician Steve Benham on a radio show on music review categorically appreciated her voice quality which received wide media coverage too.
