Meaning

This bandish reflects the event of \'Sita-Swayamvar\'. The lyrics and it\'s meaning are given below: Jab= when, sab=all, nirapat > nripati = kings, niras bhaye= became hopeless. Guru=teacher, padkamal=lotus-feet, vande=prayed (took blessings), Raghupat=another name for Sri Rama. tab=then, chap=bow, sameep=along with, gaye=went. It means:- When all the men(kings and princes) failed and became hopeless (as they could not complete the given task), then Lord Sri Rama, who was holding a bow, went to complete the task after touching the lotus-feet of His Guru and thus seeking his blessing.
