Come here, O flower-seller girl. You are in the fullness of youth. Why do you not speak or respond to me? You bring garlands made of flowers. O flower-girl, you steal my heart.

Notes

The text is written in a Braj / Awadhi-influenced dialect of Hindi, which is very common in Hindustani classical bandishes. Words like “malaniya” (flower-seller girl) and expressions describing youth and beauty (bhara joban) are typical of poetic and romantic imagery used in traditional compositions. The language is simple, rural, and conversational, often reflecting village life and romantic admiration.
