aavana gavana kee raaga vidyaa saadhe nahee saadhe |
soora laya kee baata banaaye nahee bane ||

आवन गवन की राग विद्या साधे नही साधे ।
सूर लय की बात बनाये नही बने ॥
Meaning
The Raga improvising, which is called as art of ascending & descending, is so difficult (and ambiguous too) that at a time one is successful in it and other time may be not! In the same way, expressing your thoughts through notes and rhythm is challenging.
