Meaning
This bandish describes the arrival of spring, a season usually associated with joy, color, and celebration. The speaker tells her friend that the beautiful spring month has come and asks to be taken to her beloved, because this is the time meant to be shared with loved ones. The setting suggests a festive atmosphere, similar to a celebration filled with color and happiness, but for her, the real joy depends on being with the person she loves. In the second part, the mood becomes more emotional. She says that her beloved still has not come, and now her hope is beginning to fade. Even though everything around her is lively and cheerful, she feels incomplete and restless because of his absence. The piece expresses a universal feeling: that even the happiest times can feel empty when someone important is missing, and longing for a loved one can overshadow everything else.
