जगत जननी महिषासुर मर्दिनी ।
हिमनग नंदिनी भवभय खंडिनी
शरणागत चतर अभय वरदानी ॥
Meaning
Praise the Goddess Durga, the Queen of the Universe, Mother of the world, Slayer of the demons. Daughter of the king of mountains, Destroyer of fear, Giver of refuge, with four arms and abounding grace.
