Origin
This Raga is from the corpus of Jaipur - Atrauli Gharana. Though the name is Sanskrit, the Raga has recent origin and is not mentioned in ancient or medieval treatises. We find only one Bada Khayal composition in this Raga, composed by Ustad Alladiya Khan Saheb of Jaipur Atrauli Gharana and so, many assume that both, this Raga and Bandish, are this creation.
