Biography
Bismillah Khan is best known for popularizing the shehnai and bringing it to the concert stage. He was awarded the highest honor of 'Bharat Ratna' in 2001 and he was the third classical musician to be awarded this honor besides Ravi Shankar and M.S. Subbulakshmi.
