Biography

Maestro Indradeep is one of the few Indian Classical violinist and one and only Indian Classical Violist to play a unique, custom made five-string Violin and Viola with eight sympathetic strings, modeled after the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle which gives a fuller tone and resonating affect. Over the years he has extensively performed all over the world and was featured in some notable events including the 10th Asia Festival in Barcelona, SXSW music festival at Austin, USA, Learn Quest Music Festival, Boston, USA, Tansen-Tyagaraja Music and Dance Festival, Rajahmundry, India Festival Du Bout Du Monde, France, the YOMAD Festival in Croatia, Yoga—Vidya Music Festival in Germany to name a few. He has collaborated with several western musicians such as Grammy winning Kora player Mama Dou Diabate, Jazz Organ Monster Tony Monaco, virtuoso Guitarist Fareed Haque, and versatile Flutist Pedro Eustache. He is an "A" grade artist of All India Radio and performs regularly for National Radio and TV Channel in India. In 2016, he received Akademia Music Award for an album, Melodic Intersect: One Vision Maestro Indradeep’s contribution to his field of music has fetched him several recognitions such as “Nobel Order of Record in Human Excellence” from Cultural Book of Records India and for his outstanding contribution to the Indo-American community for his artistic leadership and service, the City of Houston honored him the “Proclamation” stating October 15, 2017 as Indradeep Ghosh Day. Indradeep is currently serving as an Artistic Director for Global Creative Arts Academy (GCAA) in Houston and Austin, Texas centers also as an instructor at School of Indian Percussion and Music (SIPM), Austin, Texas, USA.
