Kausalya Manjeshwar started learning music under D.R. Nimbargi (disciple of Pt. Anant Manohar Joshi of Gwalior gharana). She also took lessons of music under Pt. Gajananbua Joshi for few years. She got extensive training under GaanTapaswini Mogubai Kurdikar of Jaipur gharana for almost 40 years. She was married to Dinkar Manjeshwar, an ardent music lover who was a member of the Bombay Music Circle, one of the earliest music circles in Mumbai, who supported her to pursue music. Kausalya Manjeshwar was not a professional performer and preferred to sing in private Baithaks, but she broadcasted on AIR for many years. She was fortunate to have an opportunity of singing Bhajans at Mahatma Gandhi's prayer meetings in Mumbai. She died in Mumbai.
