Born in a typically cultured simple Marathi family, Paulami is a young, promising, upcoming vocalist. She completed her B.A. in Sanskrit and holds Visharad in Hindustani Classical Vocal. She has completed Masters in Music of Mumbai University.

Paulami learnt music initially from Mrs. Sunetra Pandit and Pt. Chandrakant Parkar. She has been blessed to be a disciple of Padmabhushan Dr. Prabha Atre(Kirana Gharana). Paulami feels so fortunate that she got a golden opportunity to learn the intricacies of Gwalior style from Pt. Dr. Chandrashekhar Rele (Disciple of Pro. B. R. Deodhar and gurubandhu of Pt. Kumar Gandharva) and also from Pt. Dinkar Panshikar of Jaipur Gharana (Disciple of Pt. Nivruttibuwa Sarnaik). She was also under the tutelage of Sou Vidya Khandwe during her education of Masters of Music. Currently, she is taking Taalim of Jaypur Gharana from Smt. Shalmali Joshi.(Disciple of Pt. Ratnakar Pai Ji. of Jaipur Gharana). Thus her music represents an interesting blend of three major styles of Hindustani Vocal tradition viz. Kirana, Jaipur and Gwalior.

Though classical singing is her first love, she enjoys singing semi-classical, light and film music too. For that, she took some lessons of light music from ghazal singer Jasvinder Singh and Shri. Suhas Bawadekar [Disciple of Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki]

She has won many prizes in inter-school, inter-college and state-level competitions. She was one of the 32 finalists of Idea SaReGaMaPa 2007 on Zee Marathi.

Paulami has given many classical solo performances at various places in India and abroad. She has also lent her voice for many jingles, Marathi films and serials too.
