Naina Devi received training of Khayal from Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan of Rampur Gharana and that of Thumri style from Rasoolan bai. Naina Devi ji had a rich repertoire of various types of compositions collected from various musicians. She was appointed as Producer [Music] in Doordarshan when it was in its initial stage and she did pioneering work in this field by producing many novel music programs. Her home in Delhi was an important cultural center for the music artistes and music lovers. She founded the organization Raag-Rang through which she did noteworthy work of propagation of classical and light classical music field. She was very kind hearted and generously helped various music artistes. Vidushi Naina Devi gave special guidance of her style to many disciples including Suhasini Koratkar and Shubha Mudgal.
