Arvind Gajendragadkar took lessons in flute from Pannalal Ghosh and Muralidhar Shastri. Besides flute, he also used to play various other musical instruments. He trained a number of artistes belonging to younger generations. Gajendragadkar broadcasted flute solo recitals on Akashwani since 1951. He worked as a music producer from 1959 to 1978 with the All India Radio stations in Dharwad, Patna, Pune and Nagpur. He was the only artiste to give solo Swaramandal performances. Gajendragadkar published 25 books on Hindustani music in Marathi and English.
