Chaitanya Kunte is a disciple of Dr. Arawind Thatte. He has also received guidance from Pt. Mohanrao Karve
for Hindustani Vocal music. He is one of the leading young artistes and has accompanied maestros such as Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, Pt Dinkar Kaikini, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Smt. VAsundhara Komkali, Padma Talwalkar, Shruti Sadolikar, Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Dr. Ashwini Bhide, Aarti Ankalikar and many others. Chaitanya also is a well appreciated composer. His compositions cover a wide range of genre such as Khayal, Tappa, Tarana, Chataranga, Sadra, Saragam-geet, Thumari, Dadra, Bhajan etc. and a variety of Raags and Taals. He has composed music for Kathak dance and choreographies such as 'Amoorta', 'Rituchakra' etc. He also has scored music for several musicals for AIR, including 'Geet Govindam' of Jayadev, 'Meghadootam' of Kalidas, Sanskrit stotras of Shankaracharya, Vallabhacharya and Ramanujacharya and 'Upanishadannche Antaranga'. He has presented many theme concerts, such as 'Megha- Rang', 'Basant-Rang', 'Nayikaa-Bhaav-Tarang', 'Bhairavi-Darshan', 'Saaj Thumaricha' etc. | |
Varada Godbole : Born on 19th September 1975, Varada Godbole began her quest for musical excellence at the age of 5yrs. After learning the basics for first 7 years from Mrs. Lilatai Shelar, she began her training of traditional Khayal gayaki under the able guidance of Suramani Pt. Achyut Keshav Abhyankar of Kirana Gharana. Within one year she won the prestigious “Centre for Cultural Resources and Training” Scholarship from Government of India for Hindustani Classical Music. After learning traditional Kirana Gharana gayaki for 12 yrs, she took lessons from Pt. Ajay Pohankar and Dr. Sushilatai Pohankar for 2yrs on the intricacies and presentation skills of classical music. Currently she is getting training of the basics of Agra and Gwalior gharana under the eminent guidance of Pt. Yashwant Mahale for past 2 yrs. Apart from completing at Sangeet Alankar of Gandharva Mahavidyalay with first class, Varada was a topper in Arts faculty with a Gold Medal in Sanskrit, while completing B.A from University of Mumbai. She also was topper in M.A (Music) from university of mumbai. Varada has given almost 200 odd performances of classical music all over India. The major places include Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Miraj, Kolhapur, Jaipur, Jaisingpur, Baramati, Belgaum and Pune etc. She is currently performing as Akashwani Mumbai Artiste. Pritam Bhattacharjee is a young rising star in the Hindustani music firmament. Having shown an inclination towards music from childhood, Pritam began his initial training under his mother Smt. Monjushree Bhattacharjee at the tender age of three. He was then trained under Shri. Amarendra Chakraborty till the age of 14. In the year 1995, with the Almighty’s blessings, Lady Luck smiled upon him and his lifelong ambition of learning under the Mewati Maestro Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasrajji realized when the living legend accepted him as his disciple. Blessed with a highly cultivated voice, absorbing all the aspects of his Guru’s style through vigorous riyaaz under the ever-watchful eyes of his Guru Pandit Jasrajji have made him progress into a very promising upcoming vocalist. Pritam has also performed solos in many a concerts and festivals in India and abroad. He has traveled extensively and performed with his Guruji all over India and abroad, prominent among them being the Doverlane Music conference in Calcutta, Gunidas Sangeet Samaroha in Delhi, Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Samaroha in Pune, Pandit Motiram Sangeet Samaroha in Hyderabad, Indore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai etc., in India and at the ICCR’s 50th anniversary celebrations in South Africa (Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg), Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Mauritius and the United States. With his Guruji’s blessings, Pritam is all set to ably carry forward the rich Mewati tradition and legacy in forthcoming years. Praveen Sheolikar : Born in 1964 in a family of reputed musicians, Praveen started learning music at the tender age of 9 under the tutelage of his grandfather late Rambhau Sheolikar of Raipur, himself an accomplished musician. A rigorous training then followed under the tutelage of his father, Shri V R Sheolikar, a violinist of repute and a regular broadcaster of AIR, when young Praveen learnt the technique and finer aspects of violin playing and developing a style of his own. As early as in 1976, Praveen received the coveted National Talent Search Scholarship. In 1985 he received a gold medal in AIR's All India Akashwani Music Competition. On academic front also Praveen has done remarkably well having secured a first class Master's Degree in Science. Praveen plays violin with the more difficult of styles, "Gayaki", which bears his own distinct touch. It has all the softness and sweetness one can look for. His treatment of raags is always traditional and disciplined, keeping their purity intact with total control on Sur and Taal. Praveen has participated in various music conferences in the country including Tansen Samaroha, Pt Kumar Gandarva Samaroha, Ut Amir Khan Samaroha etc. |
